Wrote/recorded a free dance tune at 100bpm using ableton live 9. Basic 4 chord song structure (a, e, g, d). Synth and synth sounds are a combination of ableton stock plugins (bass groove, might as well synth brass, celestial pad) and free online synth vsts (dexed, synth1 vst). Simple synth snare + 3 higher speeds. ⸻ "how do you make a classic synth snare, do you just take white noise and go like. . . " *goes like* ". . . Huh" yep you just go like. (going like consists of setting an oscillator to sine with just a release tail and noise + a lowpass snapping up and trailing off gently + compression/distortion of some sort + high frequency shelf snapping down from high gain and then back up).

Digital manipulation of a sampled bass synth with pitch lfo. Sampling, multiband processing middle frequencies, saturation of low frequencing, filtering and compressing.

Bass drum pattern (hit also) : a suspense pattern bass drum with tape echo. Resembles, very faintly, a heartbeat without the echo. Synthesized using the "synth bass drum" module in kong in propellerheads reason.

Whatamidoing is an experiment i did where i tried to run a drum machine through a multiosc synth, switching presets on the synth to change the sound. While it offered me brief entertainment, there's not much i have done with these sounds. Perhaps they will serve you better than i.

Edited a default preset in bk-synthlab's free "vs-1 oscilloscope" synth and hooked it up with a free midi sequencer vst (hyperion) and placed thrillseekervbl on the master. This was done using headphones back then so the sound may not be optimal on some playback devices.

The engine to the hysterical "melody" is formed by a two lfos and a looping envelope performing an ever changing dance of random or maybe chaos. I wanted to create mood for a shot video piece that was dramatic, ambient and atmospheric. I jumped on my midi-controller keyboard and generated this sound on my computer using software synths and mixed it and processed it in audacity. Useful for background music for video, or for meditation.
